He Forgotten by Time

Lingering among neon lights, billboard signs, the time forgotten one
Mounted against a wall of clay bricks stained in the color of deep crimson
Waiting in the streets for his fellow men unknown to any human
Offering up unheard prayers, God bless their souls, ancient sword held firmly in his hand

Even though the long bitter war has long since reached its end
Where have they all gone?
Have they marched to a bare land where no grass grows
And continue to fight there?
I continue to wait for them

The flow of time is now frozen; one day there will be a time when we'll all meet this end
The wind has stopped,
And the prayers that can no longer be heard are swept away like the seas' foam

I can no longer hear their beloved voices
For a force I cannot see stops me from reaching them
Destiny's scarlet threads into arrases weave
While I'm still here on this pedestal, unable to leave.

As the sun sets, rays die with their master, the blood red, scarlet moon rises
Each and every day, the nights pass away while I exist outside of time's pace

And all of those who have fought faithfully with me for so long
Where have they all gone?
Have they marched to a dry land where no wind blows
And continue to fight there?
I continue to wait for them

Ah, I remember fighting along their sides
Fearlessly, we drove back all of our country's blights
But now I'm the only one still standing on these streets
Where are all of those beautiful faces hiding?

I have lost and been seeking
For a very important thing:
The reason I was chosen to be "honored"
Stuck here in this stone, the reason for that;
The reason only I was treated different
The fact I wish was never ever existent

Its measure has stopped since long ago
I can no longer here its drumming anymore
As I lay my hand upon this cold, stone breast
I can feel no heart beating; it's been laid to rest

Just like the flow of time cannot affect me; the flow of life no longer pulses inside me
The wind refuses to blow for me
My soul laments
But no tears can roll down my cheeks

Clenching this eroded sword tightly
Surely this must be the place where I should be
Without anyone remembering their legacy
Left forgotten by time, I'll continue to wait for them . . . .
